Joe Gallegos earned a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Arizona in 1998, and has studied under renowned UA music faculty Daniel Asia (composition), Tom Patterson (guitar), Gary Cook (percussion), and Jay Rees (band/conducting). As an undergraduate, he spent considerable time in several University ensembles on guitar, saxophone, and percussion, including the "Pride of Arizona" drumline and the UA Steel Band. From 1999 to 2003, Joe served as Associate Director of Marching Percussion for the "Pride of Arizona", and was appointed Director of Marching Percussion from 2004 to 2005.
Joe began audio engineering through The Recording Connection internship program in 2003. As the sole apprentice to a professional engineer in an established recording studio, he spent considerable time learning recording principles in a one-to-one, hands-on environment. His abilities quickly catapulted him, and he soon joined Allusion Studios as a second engineer in 2005. Joe has an excellent ear, superb client-sense, and a natural ability to recognize and produce quality recordings.
