Ben Dunnill

Vancouver-based artist Ben Dunnill came to Allusion Studios for a two-day session sponsored by Cloud Microphones — bringing their professional ribbon and condenser microphones into the room to capture something special.

The centerpiece of the session was Allusion Studios’ Yamaha concert piano — recorded with a full complement of Cloud Microphones positioned to capture every nuance of the instrument’s natural resonance. Dunnill, a pianist and vocalist in the tradition of the great jazz crooners, recorded multiple songs across the two days.

The result is a body of work that demonstrates what happens when a world-class instrument, professional microphones, and an acoustically accurate room come together under experienced hands.
