The Great Wall of China Concert

Jim Pavett, owner of Allusion Studios, built, installed, and ran the recording system for the historic Great Wall of China Concert. This monumental event marked the first international pop concert ever produced at The Great Wall.
The concert featured world‑class artists Alicia Keys, Boyz II Men, Cyndi Lauper, and Doyle Bramhall II, each performing their greatest hits under the grandeur of the ancient landmark.
Filmed entirely in High Definition (HD) for broadcast, the production demanded flawless audio capture. Jim designed and deployed two 48‑track digital recording systems, flying them to China and installing them on site. Once operational, he routed 192 channels of audio, split across redundant systems to ensure reliability.
The resulting sound is nothing short of spectacular. This historic concert is now airing in rotation on the Music‑HD digital station.
